30 minute audio-visual and workshops, Grades 2-12This lively, narrated two projector audio visual gives the viewer an affectionate portrait of this vast South American country. The photographer lived in Brazil for 6 years as a child. The show covers diverse areas of Brazil such as the lowland tropical rainforest around Manaus, the spectacular Iguassu waterfalls that form the border with Argentina, the industrial powerhouse of Sao Paulo, the ancient cities of Salvador in Bahia, and Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais, as well as incomparably beautiful and troubled city, Rio de Janeiro. The program presents Brazil in a positive light while also touching on contemporary problems such as poverty, explosive population growth, and education. Cost $500 per day.
