The show's main focus is on elephants, lions, hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, and rhinos. Many smaller animals and birds are also described in compelling vignettes. The animals are shown in vivid detail as they struggle to survive in a wide variety of habitats from lush mountain forests to arid scrubland.
